MARUHIRO STORE

MARUHIRO STORE is the company-owned retail shop run by Maruhiro Inc., where you can find a full lineup of its original ceramic ware brands, such as HASAMI and BARBAR, made in Hasami. What is more, it also carries the exclusive items of HIROPPA, the products of various domestic and overseas artists and brands that Maruhiro has collaborated on a wide range of projects based on ceramics, and the rare items hard to get or the one-of-a-kind artworks.
This shop also sells merry things, such as miscellaneous goods, books, aromatic products, and apparel that will make you want to pick them up unintentionally and curated items that go well with design of Maruhiro brand. The selection is made not only as a “Ceramic company”, but also based on the free-spirited “Maruhiro-ism”.

OPEN-END

OPEN-END is the coffee stand located in HIROPPA.
The entrance of coffee stand has no boundary between inside and outside, and the entire park can be used as a seat for guest to enjoy freely. The visitors can have a good time with various beverage, such as coffee or espresso brewing original blended beans and green tea latte decocting GEN GEN AN tea leaves, and also can enjoy the handmade baked sweets.

KIOSK POOP

POOP is the kiosk located inside the MARUHIRO STORE that sells beverages, seasonings, sweets, toys, and more. Furthermore, there are plenty of toys that children can enjoy playing in the park, such as balls, soap bubbles, and water guns. Everything are in reasonable price that children can shop with only one coin.
The lunch boxes and sandwiches are sold occasionally by EN, the food & beverage division of Maruhiro.
By the way, the name of kiosk POOP is derived from Maruhiro's president's family name "Baba", which has various meanings in Japanese. This name mainly comes from a training camp for horses, but it also means "poop" due to the pronunciation, so he chose this English word jokingly.

FRIENDLY RESTROOM

FRIENDLY RESTROOM, which can be used by anyone, has a wide entrance and it is designed to be comfortable for visitors in wheelchair or with stroller to use. Infant safety seats and diaper changing tables are equipped in the public restrooms for both men and women, and multipurpose restroom. In addition, there is restroom installed ostomate as well, and we have prepared well-equipped restroom facilities so that a wide range of visitors can use them comfortably.

NURSING ROOM

NURSING ROOM is able to enter with your child in a stroller. A basin is also available here.

ENTRANCE GOO CHOKI PAR

Artist>GOO CHOKI PAR, SAIKAI ENGEI

ENTRANCE GOO CHOKI PAR is one of the popular photo spots in HIROPPA. The entrance graphic depicted “HIROPPA” is scheduled to switch every few years. The pergola at the access connecting the MARUHIRO STORE and the park field will be covered with kiwi ivy and will become a greenery roof.

DOGU

Artist>Hiroki Miura

DOGU is the open-fired artwork created by Hiroki Miura, the clay figurine artist based in Takeo City, Saga Prefecture. The two clay figurines standing and staring at the park look like the guardian deity of HIROPPA. Their unglazed surface will be eventually covered with moss and will become one with nature. Hiroki Miura and Maruhiro had known each other well since Hiroki was still working at the pottery in Hasami town, then Maruhiro offered Hiroki to create the clay figurine at the timing when he became independent.

ROBOT HILL

Artist>Boris Tellegen

ROBOT HILL is a 10m long giant cement art object designed by Boris Tellegen, the artist based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Boris is one of the world’s leading figures in contemporary art scene, drawing a lot of attention for his 3D lettering style inspired by architecture and robotics. You can enjoy ROBOT HILL freely, such as sitting like a bench and drinking coffee, and riding on it and playing with uneven shape.

NETTY JUNGLE

Artist> SAIKAI ENGEI

NETTY JUNGLE which is located on the hill of HIROPPA is a large pergola playground equipment like a jungle gym. You can enjoy seeing Sakura, the cherry blossoms, which will be in full bloom inside in the NETTY JUNGLE every spring.
The area under the NETTY JUNGLE is shaded by trees, so it is a comfortable place to lie down on the lawn and take a rest. And once you climb up the ladder, there is a hammock woven with rope, and it becomes a place like an observatory overlooking the entire park. It is a good place where you can take a short break while watching the children running around the park. Have a nice time as you like here, by relaxing or play freely.

CERAMIC BEACH

CERAMIC BEACH is located about two meters below the promenade that you can go around the park. A giant moray eel drawn by Shuntaro Takeuchi stands out on the beach mural.
A beach unique to pottery town was born with sand that was recycled by grinding the scrap ceramics into small pieces and polishing it up.
During the summer season, the beach is randomly filled with water, so there are days when children can enjoy playing in the water as real beach. When there is no water, they can also have a fun with sand play. A small shower is installed at the edge of beach, so you can wash your hands and feet quickly if they get dirty.

RED TRIANGLE STEPPED DENT

RED TRIANGLE STEPPED DENT is a convenient place for everyone to sit and take a break or eat something, and it is a fun place for children to play ball, blow soap bubbles, and play tag. In the hot season, there may be days when children can collect water and play.

BEANPOLE SEAT

BEANPOLE SEAT is a special seat, which has a 150cm height, limited to only two seats. You can overlook the park leisurely while drinking coffee or juice. It is also recommended to eat lunch or take a short nap while feeling the pleasant breeze.

HUNDREDFOLD MUG CHAIR

HUNDREDFOLD MUG CHAIR is a chair which is 100 times larger than HASAMI SEASON01 BLOCKMUG, one of the flagship products of Maruhiro. These are handmade by a pottery in Arita that specializes in producing large ceramic ware. It is one of the most popular photo spots in HIROPPA.

CYLINDER SANDBOX

CYLINDRICAL SANDBOX is a playground where the three types of large cylinder-shaped bags filled with plenty of sand pop out of the ground. Each of the three types of cylindrical sandboxes has a height difference. Little kids can play in the lower sandbox, and boys and girls can play in higher one, so it is for everyone!

GREENISH STAGE

Artist>SAIKAI ENGEI

GREENISH STAGE is a trapezoidal grassy hill like an ancient burial mound. There are various ways to enjoy this place such as running up and down, playing with balls, and lying down.
It will also be a stage for outdoor concert sometimes.

HERB GARDEN

HERB GARDEN is an organic place where about 30 kinds of herbs such as dill and basil are planted. It is safe and secure herbs that MARUHIRO’s chairman puts his heart into cultivation.
Harvested herbs are used as ingredients at EN and OPEN-END.

TURFY CUSHION

TURFY CUSHION is a large cushion made of artificial grass. How about take it to various places in the park, then sit or lie down, and relax with the plants and flowers around you?

FOOD TRUCK AREA

FOOD TRUCK AREA is a corner where the various kinds of food trucks appear at a wide variety of events held in in HIROPPA. You can enjoy dishes from urban area and cuisines from all over the world.

BEE ROAD

Artsit>SAIKAI ENGEI

BEE ROAD is a path that connects the 4,500 ㎡ site between HIROPPA and KOUBA. It is located along the Kawatana River, and you can admire wild flowers such as canola flowers and red spider lilies on the banks.

PARKING LOT NO.1

PARKING LOT NO.1 is located in front of the main building of HIROPPA and 22 cars can be parked here. There are 2 priority car parking spaces next to the HIROPPA entrance. And there are 6 parking space for bicycles and motorcycles.

PARKING LOT NO.2

PARKING LOT NO.2 is located next to PARKING LOT NO.1 and 45 cars can be parked here. There are electric vehicle charging points for 2 cars and large parking spaces for 2 motor coaches.

ZMOKING AREA

ZMOKING AREA is smoking area located in the edge of PARKING LOT NO.1. The lettering of ZMOKING and the paint of Kappa which is famous Japanese river specter that drawn by Shuntaro Takeuchi is the landmark for this place. And the minimal ashtray of EXIT METAL WORK SUPPLY is also one of the features.
